USER GUIDE
If you are familiar with using blogs, this one is pretty straight forward, but there are a few "quirks" you should be aware of. Please review these for ease of operation and to avoid confusion.
1. Only registered, logged in users can post, comment and use the download section of this blog. Please read the Privacy statement listed under Pages. After logging in click the "Write" ink on the top menu bar to write a new post, the comment link under a post to add your comments or the download link to download a file post.
2. Types of posts: When you click the "write" link you will notice several Tabs which select the different types of posts, which are as follows:
1.A text post is just your normal post. You can add a link using the WYSIWYG editor. Please tag all posts, see Tags below for more info. Be sure and set the status as to who may view the post and who may comment on it. The default settings are viewable by all, comments by registered users only. Click publish when you are ready to post it. If you notice any mistakes after it is published, you can click on the edit link to correct them.
2.The second tab is for Audio posts. This allows you to upload a mp3 file which will play in your post. Please include a title and in the body section Song title, album(if known) artist and date(if known). Please tag as music along with any additional tags such as artist, genre, etc. Remember, audio posts must be in mp3 format only. Also set the status as to whom may view the post and comment on it. Than publish as with a text post.
3.Next is the Quote post. In the top section, type in your quote, donot use quotation marks(") on it, these will be added when it is posted. In the lower section add the source(who said it) and any other info, set viewing and comment status, tag with quotes and any other tags and publish as usual.
4.Link post. While you can add a link to any post, this one gives you a nice large link post. Type in URL, example: http://www.yourlink.com next the name of site and if you like, you can add a description. Set viewing and comment status, tag with links and any other tags and publish your link post.
5.Photo post. You may include a photo in you posts by using this option. Please limit size to 200X300 Max. Upload your photo, add a description, set viewing a and comment status and tag with photos and any other tags and publish.
6.File post. You can upload a zip file to share with this type of post. Please take the time to zip your file(s) for dowload, it saves bandwidth and if you don't zip them, when you click download it will try and render the file and not go into the download mode! Upload your Zip file, add title and description, add the tag as downloads and any other tags you like, set viewing status to registered only and comment status to registered only and publish as usual. If you need a zip utility, check tags downloads or utilities as I have uploaded 7-Zip for download. It
works well and handles a variety of files.
7.Pages. This is for admin use only.
3. Tags: Please try and remember to add tags to your posts. It helps other find your posts. It is a good idea to include your username as a tag, that way if someone is looking for just your posts all the have to do is click on your username tag. As I have mentioned above, please include the type of post tags I mentioned above. Just comma separate, no spaces, multiple tags.
4. Don't forget to set the status as to who may view and who may comment on your posts. The default is viewable by all comments by registered users only. Lets try and keep downloads as veiwable by and comments by registered users only.
